living my best life (got a diagnosis for my knee pain. the solution is more physical therapy, ice, and stop the activities that aggravate it (walking a load, running, and taking the stairs (I live in new york (one of the elevators in my building in broken and the others can be slow as hell when they want to be))), I need to stop taking my anti-inflammatories so I don't fuck up my kidneys, I've never been given pain killers aside from the shit ton of ibuprofen that one time that did nothing)

your transfem friend recommended a clinic to get your bottom surgery done at. she says its cheap, not gatekeepery, and the results are good, even if the doctors a little skeevy. youre at the address she gave you and are wondering how exactly your murder will go down. the door is on a third floor landing accessible only from a fire escape out of a back alley in the worst part of town youve ever seen. you knock three times and the door is answered by a ratty-looking woman with a severe slouch smoking something that doesnt smell like nicotine and doesnt smell like marijuana. her wavy blonde hair is unkempt. shes wearing an oversized grey hoodie that hasnt been washed in some time. you can identify blood on the left sleeve and vomit across much of her side, as well as other, more mysterious stains. you cant tell if shes wearing anything underneath the hoodie. the inside of the apartment - because it is, very clearly, her apartment - has a smell that you cant place but, if pressed, would probably call sweat, though you know that description is lacking something.
dr davis, you ask. she smiles wide, and her teeth are shockingly good for the state the rest of her is in. just call me riley, she says. never did get a degree.
she ushers you inside and sits you down on a sofa almost as stained as her hoodie. can i get you a drink she asks. a drink, you repeat, dazed. she says yeah. she says she has diet coke, beer, vodka, and coffee. says she used to keep tea around for a friend of a friend but she hasnt come by in a few years and the leaves are probably losing flavor by now. you say just waters fine. she shrugs and says your funeral. she comes back from the kitchen and sweeps some stuff off the coffee table. you see a stray scalpel, a roll of gauze bandages, a soda cup from taco bell, and various crumpled papers amongst the rubbish that she knocks aside before setting down your glass of water. she has a beer in her own hand and pops the cap off with her teeth, though the motion isnt quite how youre used to seeing people do it. she takes a big gulp before she keeps talking.
so what do you want your pussy to look like, she asks. you splutter a bit. she says you are the one who needed their bits redone right. you flush and say yeah thats me. she nods and says right so what do you want. you struggle to give a good answer and she starts asking questions. depth? width? color? clit size? you give your answers falteringly. she starts asking about labia. oh, you dont want dentata, do you, she says. that costs extra. you say you dont know what that means. she says dont worry about it. hey do you wanna get pregnant? you splutter again. not now she clarifies. well i can get you pregnant now too if you want that. doesnt even have to be human i think i have some horse sperm around here if you want. i just meant like ever in the future. you say you dont know. she says okay shell leave it out for now but come back if you ever want her to put the womb in. youre too stunned to reply.
she says oh do you want to keep your dick, i can do that. you say you thought they needed the tissue from the penis in order to make the vaginal lining. she laughs and takes another gulp from her beer. she says so is that a no. you say you guess you hadnt thought about it. she says she can reschedule if you need to think, no rush. you say no i guess i dont want it anymore. she nods and says come back if you change your mind.
she says ok, i think i can start operating now if youre ready. you say okay and she tells you to lie on your back and strip naked. you follow her instructions. youre still not sure if youre going to die today or not. she pulls on a big pair of rubber gloves. not latex medical gloves, they're yellow dishwashing gloves. she grabs a small jar of what looks like petroleum jelly off a shelf nearby. you cant help but notice that theres also lube, condoms, saran wrap, and a bottle of honey on the same shelf. you dont ask. she starts vigorously rubbing the jelly into your skin from the belly button down. everywhere it touches you instantly go numb. she keeps talking while she works. a lot of it is her telling stories about "her amy." you cant tell if amy is a sister, wife, or pet. she might be all three.
she reaches up to grab an empty syringe off the top shelf. when she stretches you notice shes naked under the hoodie. you look away bashfully. she doesnt seem to notice.
she fills the syringe with liquid from a bucket in the closet. the liquid is neon green. she injects it into your inner upper thigh. you are now certain you're going to die today, but you cannot make a break for it with your legs numbed, so you wait.
she says okay this is the part where a lot of people get squeamish so look away if you think you might get sick. she pulls out a set of knives. some of them look like dentistry tools, some of them are medical scalpels, and some of them are kitchen knives. you look away. she starts humming to herself while she works. the tune is pop goes the weasel.
hey, she calls out to you from between your legs, how many nerves do you want in your clit? you say uh i dont know, whats a normal amount. she says about ten thousand give or take two thousand in either direction. you say ten thousand sounds fine. she doesnt respond, just goes back to humming. its a different tune. shes humming old macdonald now.
she gets up a couple times to grab new drinks. you say should you be drinking during an operation? she says dont worry i know what im doing. besides i never took the hippocratic oath. she laughs at that, the sound somewhere between a giggle and a cackle. you don't think its that funny. she resumes her work.
this time shes humming the alphabet song. you ask how old are you anyway? she says somewhere between 12 and 47. then she laughs again. you decide to stop asking questions.
four beers, two diet cokes, three unidentifiable cigarettes, and five hours later, she stands up and announces shes done. she wipes her brow without taking the glove off, smearing unidentifiable bodily fluids across her forehead. she jabs another syringe into your other thigh and the feeling returns to your lower body. you're a little sore but other than that you feel great. she wheels over a full length mirror and tells you to take a look. its perfect. youre everything youve ever dreamed you would be. you cant describe how euphoric it feels to see a vagina, your vagina, between your legs. you thank her tearfully. she smiles awkwardly. of course, shes saying.
how much do i owe you you ask. she shrugs. iunno, a hundred bucks? im not in it for the money. you pay her the hundred bucks and leave quickly. you barely remember to get dressed again before heading out. you have never seen Riley again.

The Best News of Last Week
⚡ - Charging Towards a More Electrifying Future
1. The Kissimmee River has been brought back to life—and wildlife is thriving
Tumblr media
The Kissimmee River in Florida was straightened in the 1960s, causing a sharp decline in wildlife and ecological problems. But in the 1990s, a $1 billion restoration project was initiated to restore the river's natural state.
Today, nearly half of the river has been restored, wetlands have been reestablished and rehydrated, and wildlife has returned, including rare and threatened species. Already the biological impact of the project has become clear. As the wetlands have come back, so have the birds.
2. Plastic wrap made from seaweed withstands heat and is compostable
Tumblr media
A cling film made from an invasive seaweed can withstand high temperatures yet is still easily compostable. The material could eventually become a sustainable choice for food packaging.
Scientists started with a brown seaweed called sargassum. Sargassum contains long, chain-like molecules similar to those that make up conventional plastic, which made it a good raw material. The researchers mixed it with some acids and salts to get a solution full of these molecules, then blended in chemicals that thickened it and made it more flexible and pliable.
3. An Eagle Who Adopted a Rock Becomes a Real Dad to Orphaned Eaglet
Tumblr media
Murphy, a bald eagle that had been showing fatherly instincts, has been sharing an enclosure with an eaglet that survived a fall from a tree during a storm in Ste. Genevieve. Murphy, his rock gone by then, took his role as foster parent seriously. He soon began responding to the chick’s peeps, and protecting it.
And when, as a test, the keepers placed two plates of food in front of the birds — one containing food cut into pieces that the chick could eat by itself, and another with a whole fish that only Murphy could handle — the older bird tore up the fish and fed it to the eaglet.
4. World's largest battery maker announces major breakthrough in energy density
Tumblr media
In one of the most significant battery breakthroughs in recent years, the world’s largest battery manufacturer CATL has announced a new “condensed” battery with 500 Wh/kg which it says will go into mass production this year.
“The launch of condensed batteries will usher in an era of universal electrification of sea, land and air transportation, open up more possibilities of the development of the industry, and promote the achieving of the global carbon neutrality goals at an earlier date,” the company said in a presentation at Auto Shanghai on Thursday.
This could be huge. Electric jets and cargo ships become very possible at this point.
5. Cat with '100% fatal' feline coronavirus saved by human Covid-19 medicine
Tumblr media
A beloved household cat has made an “astonishing” recovery from a usually fatal illness, thanks to a drug made to treat Covid-19 in humans – and a quick-thinking vet.
Anya, the 7-year-old birman cat, was suffering from feline infectious peritonitis (FIP), a “100% fatal” viral infection caused by feline coronavirus. That was, until Auckland vet Dr Habin Choi intervened, giving Anya an antiviral used to treat Covid-19 called molnupiravir.
6. Kelp forests capture nearly 5 million tonnes of CO2 annually
Tumblr media
Kelp forests provide an estimated value of $500 billion to the world and capture 4.5 million tonnes of carbon dioxide from seawater each year. Most of kelp’s economic benefits come from creating habitat for fish and by sequestering nitrogen and phosphorus.
7. Medical Marijuana Improved Parkinson’s Disease Symptoms in 87% of Patients
Tumblr media
Medical cannabis (MC) has recently garnered interest as a potential treatment for neurologic diseases, including Parkinson's disease (PD). 87% of patients were noted to exhibit an improvement in any PD symptom after starting medical cannabis. Symptoms with the highest incidence of improvement included cramping/dystonia, pain, spasticity, lack of appetite, dyskinesia, and tremor.

i was wondering if you could give some points and tips on writing about a character who is suffering from DRUG ABUSE
Writing A Drug Addict Character
Know Your Drugs
Was the drug invented? A scene using insulin set in 1820 is problematic since this treatment wasn’t discovered until the 1900s. Fentanyl shouldn’t be used in a 1930s scene since it wasn’t available for use until the 1960s—opium or morphine would be more accurate choices.
Was the method invented? Since insulin must be given as a shot, that scene is even less authentic as the hypodermic needle wasn’t invented until the mid-1800s. Older historical fiction could involve the use of poultices and mustard packs, while skin drug patches (transdermal patches) are only appropriate in more modern scenes.
The most common drugs abused by gangs are: Marijuana, Methamphetamine, Heroin, Cocaine
Or, it can be prescription drugs
Although many medications can be abused, the following three classes are most commonly abused:
Opioids—usually prescribed to treat pain;
Central nervous system (CNS) depressants—used to treat anxiety and sleep disorders; and
Stimulants—most often prescribed to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). (common example? caffeine)
Write In Stages
Stage 1: First Use
Some people use a substance for the first time out of curiosity, while others use substances due to peer pressure. People may also be prescribed medication, such as opioids, by their doctor. Individuals may view their first use as a one-time occurrence, but this opens the door for future use. Some people try a substance one time and never use it again.
You character will feel:
Angry and/or desperate
Miserable
Lonely
Trying to run away from a certain problem
Persuaded into doing drug
Guilty
Stage 2: Regular Use
If a person uses a substance and enjoys how it makes them feel or believes it will improve their life, they may start to use the substance regularly. They may use drugs or drink alcohol on the weekends while at parties or hanging out with friends. Occasional use may become a regular occurrence. It might become a part of a person’s routine.
Your character:
Will start getting in careless activities while doing drugs
Will probably be violent
Won’t think he has any issue whatsoever and shrug it off
Start associating themselves with harder drug users
Have a false sense of security that they’re able to quit whenever they want.
Stage 3: Risky Use
The next stage after regular use is risky use. A person will continue to use a substance despite the physical, mental, legal or social consequences. Their use likely started as a way to escape or have fun with peers but has now taken priority over other aspects of their life.
Your Character will feel:
uncomfortable around family members/friends who start to notice
Exhibit more reckless behavior
Driving under influence, stealing money to finance substance use, etc.
Underperforming at work or school
Experience tension in personal relationships
Stage 4: Dependence
The next stage is a physical, mental and emotional reliance on the substance. The individual is no longer using the substance for medical or recreational purposes. When a person doesn’t use the substance, their body will exhibit withdrawal symptoms, such as tremors, headaches, nausea, anxiety and muscle cramps.
Your Chracter Will:
Develop a sort of rountine/typical place where they abuse
Believe that the substance is essential for survival
Use substance even when it's unnecessary
Stage 5: Substance Use Disorder
While some people use dependency and substance use disorder interchangeably, they’re very different. Once a person develops a substance use disorder, substance misuse becomes a compulsion rather than a conscious choice. They’ll also experience severe physical and mental side effects, depending on the substance they’re using.
Your Character:
Has noe developed a chronic disease with the risk of relapse
Is now incapable of quitting on their own
Feel like life is impossible to deal with without the substance.
Lose their job, fail out of school, become isolated from friends and family or give up their passions or hobbies.
Research the Trends
Medical knowledge changes over time and with it the drugs prescribed. This then impacts the type of prescription drugs available on the streets.
late 1800s: chloral hydrate used for anxiety and insomnia > bromides > 1920s: barbiturates, barbital > benzodiazepines ("benzos") > early 2000s: opiod drugs > opiod drug bans led to growth of black markets: ilicit fentanyl > and so on...
Different countries/locations will have varying trends of drug abuse (depending on laws, availability, costs, etc.)
Research the Slag
look for "[drug name] trip report" on YouTube, etc. to get first-hand accounts of how drug addicts behave.
The main focus should always be to use the words your characters would use in ways that suit the world you have created.
The slang for certain drugs is a difficult vocabulary to maintain as it is ever-changing and varies based on country, region, town, even by streets. Some writers use what they know or have heard locally, others invent their own.
Resources
FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and DEA online databases and drug resources
Social networking groups focusing on related specialty writing topics, such as trauma or emergency medicine
Newspaper articles and medical journals are great places to find real cases.
The US national poison center
Helpful Vocab:
Addled - sense of confusion + complete lack of mental awareness
Crazed - emotional anguish experienced by the addict
Desperate
Despondent
Erratic
Fidgety
Hopeless
Impressionable
Struggling

That is completely fine! I’m grateful that you took the time to respond! Thank you so much!!
I was wondering if you could do an African reader (maybe Jamaican) who is very hippie, is vegetarian, maybe does psychedelics or marijuana (but if you don’t want to include that, you don’t have to, for I do respect your requirements and your writing). They can also listen to reggae and artists like The Who, The Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Jimi Hendrix, etc. They can also have dreadlocks as well. Is Le Comte an easy character for you? If not, that is completely fine! Again, I sincerely apologize if this is too much! You don’t have to do this if you don’t want to.😅💕
First of all, I’m sorry it took so long! It was very difficult for me, HSIUEHUASIHEA. But I wanted to try to get out of my comfort zone. It’s in HC format, because it was easier. I’m sorry if it’s not for your liking, but I tried! 🥹
I couldn’t use all the characteristics, because they were really specific, HAIUEHAISUHEAS. And I didn’t want to write something stereotypical with the characteristics I’m not familiar with, so what I used: hippie (I hope I went to the right path with this), vegetarian and uses marijuana (let’s all thanks my husband for providing me what are the effects in an almost daily basis, HASIUEHAS), with Comte.
LESGO! 🤍
Tumblr media
A hippie, vegetarian and marijuana-user reader | Comte
Tags: title is self-explanatory, but... reader smokes weed (do you consider it as drug abuse or nsfw?); gn! reader
Tumblr media
You can’t tell me the weed wasn’t the main reason you ended up there. Your high-distracted mind thought it was a good idea to follow a handsome stranger.
You smell funny, but he doesn’t pry. The thought that you’re a smoker crosses his mind, but he can't figure out why it smells different from Leonardo. You have a scent more like herbs, and— oh… Oh!
“Ma chérie, why would you do that?” He's fine with cigarettes, but he doesn’t like that you smoke weed. However, he has an open mind and is willing to learn more when you tell him it’s not what he thinks. He'll be okay with it after you explain everything you’ve learned about it—how you use it for leisure, but in the future, it could have medical uses. I don’t think he’d try it, though; this is a moment you can share with Leonardo.
You try not to disturb him or anyone else though. You’re usually in your room or outside while smoking. He only knows you did it when sees you with a smile in your face and a lot of snacks in your hands.
You know how you wake up on the first night with a nightmare? Yeah, you were so drowsy that you didn’t even get up, so no one attacked you :D
You might have some trouble finding weed when you arrive, as it's illegal and not well seen. However, you manage to make some friends downtown, so you can buy it more easily now.
You tell him you’ll sleep on the couch on your first night. Comte practically drags you to the bedroom, insisting so much that you should sleep there. It's too fancy for your liking, and you might need to change some things.
He offers to pay for everything you need to redecorate. You scold him fiercely. Didn’t he think about the consequences of spending all his money on futile things? He didn’t. I mean, look at this mansion! Does he look like someone who cares about money and what it can cause?
Cue you starting your TED Talk about capitalism and sustainability. You still try to make him stop burning his money with you or futile things. He’s trying very hard not to buy you a new purse he saw downtown… It’s a work in progress.
You probably won’t even step a foot into a ballroom. Instead, you're outside with the rest of the townspeople, protesting about the nobles' lifestyle and how it’s the rotten core of the system. The whole protest was your idea.
He finds your lifestyle amusing. He always had anything he wanted without any effort, so he’ll try doing things your way. You start a garden in the backyard, saying you like having your seasonings and herbs in hand. “Oh, that’s nice! Sebastian will appreciate it!” He might even try to help you. Wait, that’s not— “Chérie, that’s not basil, is it?” It wasn’t.
The first night when he offered you dinner, you politely refused and said you didn’t eat meat. (Cue Mozart gasping). “Oh…” And then he didn’t know how to explain to you that they were all vampires… He has to do it though, and he’s relieved that you’re not as uncomfortable as he thought you would.
He’s probably the one who understands you better, being a vegetarian. I mean, he never directly drinks blood from a human, so it’s a start… right? … Right? You tell him it’s not the same, but it’s fine. You appreciate him not biting you or others (not without their contract with him, at least). He makes an effort to drink only blanc or eat human food when you’re around, not to make you uncomfortable — even though you’re okay with it. “Comte, I don’t eat meat, it doesn’t mean that you won’t eat it too.”
He has a refined taste, but I don’t think he’s a picky eater. He will try anything you like to eat, from plant-based alternatives to tofu.
Tumblr media
I’m not encouraging anyone to use weed! BUT be responsible if you want to try it, okay? Some studies suggest using it only when you’re 25 or older. And even though it’s legal in some countries, remember that it’s still smoke being blown into your lungs.

Atrocities US committed against PRISONERS
The US currently operates a system of slave labor camps, including at least 54 prison farms involved in agricultural slave labor. Outside of agricultural slavery, Federal Prison Industries operates a multi-billion dollar industry with ~ 52 prison factories , where prisoners produce furniture, clothing, circuit boards, products for the military, computer aided design services, call center support for private companies.
Ramping up since the 1980s, the term prison–industrial complex is used to attribute the rapid expansion of the US inmate population to the political influence of private prison companies and businesses that supply goods and services to government prison agencies. Such groups include corporations that contract prison labor, construction companies, surveillance technology vendors, companies that operate prison food services and medical facilities, private probation companies, lawyers, and lobby groups that represent them. Activist groups such as the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML) have argued that the prison-industrial complex is perpetuating a flawed belief that imprisonment is an effective solution to social problems such as homelessness, unemployment, drug addiction, mental illness, and illiteracy.
The War On Drugs, a policy of arrest and imprisonment targeting minorities, first initiated by Nixon, has over the years created a monstrous system of mass incarceration, resulting in the imprisonment of 1.5 million people each year, with the US having the most prisoners per capita of any nation. One in five black Americans will spend time behind bars due to drug laws. The war has created a permanent underclass of impoverished people who have few educational or job opportunities as a result of being punished for drug offenses, in a vicious cycle of oppression.
In the present day, ICE (U.S._Immigration_and_Customs_Enforcement), the police tasked with immigration enforcement, operates over 200 prison camps, housing over 31,000 undocumented people deemed “aliens”, 20,000 of which have no criminal convictions, in the US system of immigration detention. The camps include forced labor (often with contracts from private companies), poor conditions, lack of rights (since the undocumented aren’t considered citizens), and forced deportations, often splitting up families. Detainees are often held for a year without trial, with antiquated court procedures pushing back court dates for months, encouraging many to accept immediate deportation in the hopes of being able to return faster than the court can reach a decision, but forfeiting legal status, in a cruel system of coercion.
Over 90% of criminal trials in the US are settled not by a judge or jury, but with plea bargaining, a system where the defendant agrees to plead guilty in return for a concession from the prosecutor. It has been statistically shown to benefit prosecutors, who “throw the book” at defendants by presenting a slew of charges, manipulating their fear, who in turn accept a lesser charge, regardless of their innocence, in order to avoid a worst outcome. The number of potentially innocent prisoners coerced into accepting a guilty plea is impossible to calculate. Plea bargaining can present a dilemma to defense attorneys, in that they must choose between vigorously seeking a good deal for their present client, or maintaining a good relationship with the prosecutor for the sake of helping future clients.
European countries. John Langbein has equated plea bargaining to medieval torture: “There is, of course, a difference between having your limbs crushed if you refuse to confess, or suffering some extra years of imprisonment if you refuse to confess, but the difference is of degree, not kind. Plea bargaining, like torture, is coercive. Like the medieval Europeans, the Americans are now operating a procedural system that engages in condemnation without adjudication.”
A grand jury is a special legal proceeding in which a prosecutor may hold a trial before the real one, where ~20 jurors listen to evidence and decide whether criminal charges should be brought. Grand juries are rarely made up of a jury of the defendant’s peers, and defendants do not have the right to an attorney, making them essentially show-trials for the prosecution, who often find ways of using grand jury testimony to intimidate the accused, such as leaking stories about grand jury testimony to the media to defame the accused. In the murders of Michael Brown, Eric Garner, and Tamir Rice, all of whom were unarmed and killed by police in 2014, grand juries decided in all 3 cases not to pursue criminal trials against the officers. The US and Liberia are the only countries where grand juries are still legal.
The US system of bail (the practice of releasing suspects before their hearing for money paid to the court) has been criticized as monetizing justice, favoring rich, white collar suspects, over poorer people unable to pay for their release.
On Jan 26th, In Mississippi state penitentiary, an inmate was found hanging in his cell, in a string of deaths in the prison. This is the 12th death within a single month.
A photo surfaced of a November 2019 training class for prison guards in west virginia, showing 34 trainees doing a nazi salute. Only 3 people have been fired. A large number of prison workers, and populations in prison towns, are white supremacists.
A black-site interrogation warehouse in Chicago called Homan Square is notorious for the sexual abuse, torture, and disappearances of its prisoners. The main interrogator, Richard Zuley, applied torture techniques he learned at Guantanamo Bay at Homan Square.
On Oct 25, 2014, a mentally ill inmate, Michael Anthony Kerr, at the Alexander Correctional Institution in Taylorsville, NC, died of thirst after being denied water during a 35-day solitary confinement. Prison officials have said since Kerr’s death six months ago that they would investigate the events that led to his death, but no report has been issued and officials have not said when one would be.
On May 23rd, 2014, a mentally ill inmate at a Dade County correctional facility near Miami FL was tortured to death by prison guards. Darren Rainey was serving a two-year sentence for cocaine possession when he was forced into a locked shower by prison guards as punishment for defecating in his cell, says one inmate. Once Rainey was inside the shower, guards blasted him with scalding hot water as he begged for his life. Investigators determined that there was not enough evidence to charge the guards.
The Crime Bill of 1994, signed into law by Bill Clinton, increased the size of the US prison industry and dealt with the problem of crime by emphasizing punishment, not prevention. It extended the death penalty to a whole range of criminal offenses, and provided $30 billion for the building of new prisons, to crack down on “super predators”, a term used by Hillary Clinton to refer to remorseless juvenile criminals.
In the 1978 case, Houchins v. KQED, Inc. the Supreme Court ruled that the news media do not have guaranteed rights of access to jails and prisons. It ruled also that prison authorities could forbid inmates to speak to one another, assemble, or spread literature about the formation of a prisoners’ union.
In September 1971, prison guards killed George Jackson, a black Marxist and member of the Black Panthers in San Quentin prison (who had served 10 years of an indeterminate prison sentence for a $70 robbery), after he attempted to free himself and other inmates. Outrage over this, terrible prison conditions, and mistreatment by white prison guards, caused the Attica Prison Riot, in which 33 inmates and 10 prison guards were killed, and sparked dozens of prison riots across the country. In Attica, 100 percent of the guards were white, prisoners spent fourteen to sixteen hours a day in their cells, their mail was read, their reading material restricted, their visits from families were conducted through a mesh screen, their medical care disgraceful, 75% were there as a result of plea bargaining, and their parole system inequitable.
Many companies in the 1800s were guilty of using prison laborers, such as the Tennesee Coal Iron and Railroad Company. In 1891, the prison workers struck and overpowered the guards, and other neighboring unions came to their aid.

have you ever even thought about WHY a woman might need an abortion? What if they were raped? What if giving birth could seriously hurt/kill the mother? What if it was an unplanned teen pregnancy or a teenager was raped? Do you still think they should carry the baby until the birth, knowing the mother could suffer? Do you think it’s ok if the mother dies as long as the baby lives? the other anons are right & you ARE fucking disgusting. You will never change pro-choicer’s minds no matter what.
I've thought about why women get abortions many times. And it's clear you've been led to believe that abortion is the solution to the reasons you mentioned but that's not actually the case.
>What if they were raped?
Women don't need an abortion if they were raped. I can understand why they might want one because that's scary. She's been victimized, violated, and hurt and now she's pregnant through no choice of her own and I completely understand and sympathize with her situation and how she is feeling. But, in this situation, we now have more than one innocent person involved. If the baby was not a living human being from the moment of conception I would say go ahead and get an abortion. But they are a living human being from the moment of conception and your solution here is to kill the child for the crimes of the father. We don't even kill the rapist in these situations but you want to give the death penalty to the baby?
There is also the fact that abortion doesn't help. It's not a safe, magical, trauma free baby eraser. It's an invasive procedure that comes with several risks of its own. It's not safe. And it remains not safe even if the woman was raped.
Abortion triples the maternal mortality rate (and, interestingly, it was also found that a safe delivery is linked to reduction in mortality risks that are associated with both miscarriage and abortion).
Abortion increases the risk of premature death for a woman by 50%.
Abortion harms women's mental health
some bullet points from the article:
″Women who have had an abortion have an 81% higher risk of subsequent mental health problems compared to women who have not had an abortion.
″Women who aborted have a 138% higher risk of mental health problems compared to women who have given birth.
″Women who aborted have a 55% higher risk of mental health problems compared to women with an "unplanned" pregnancy who gave birth.
″Women with a history of abortion have higher rates of anxiety (34% higher), depression (37%), alcohol use/misuse (110%), marijuana use (230%), and suicidal behavior (155%), compared to those who have not had an abortion.
Abortion increases the risk of breast cancer by 44% in women who have had just one abortion and the risk gets even higher with multiple abortions.
There are multiple risks associated with abortion.
More ways abortion hurts women.
Some bullet points from the above article:
31% of women having abortions report suffering physical health complications (1)
10% of women having abortions suffer immediate, potentially life-threatening complications (2, 3, 4)
Women have a 65% higher risk of clinical depression following abortion vs. childbirth (5)
65% of women suffer symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) after abortion (1)
Women’s death rates from various causes after abortion are 3.5 times higher than after giving birth  (6, 7)
Many women describe their experience as ‘a nightmare’, which can hardly equated with ‘choice’. 60% of women surveyed after abortion responded that: ’Part of me died’ (1)
Suicide rates among women who have abortions are six times higher than those who give birth (7, 8)
Abortion increases a woman’s risk of future miscarriages by 60% (9)
You are advocating for a woman to be able to undergo a very unsafe, risky procedure just because in the moment they think they want it. A woman who was raped and ends up pregnant needs emotional support, counseling, and thorough medical care. Not an abortion.
>what if giving birth could seriously hurt/kill the mother?
If giving birth is going to seriously hurt or kill the mother then chances are an abortion will too. And if giving birth will kill the mother she needs to be seen by a doctor at a hospital. Abortion is not a treatment for life threatening pregnancy complications. In situations like that the mother needs to be treated as necessary because if she dies so will the baby but the treatment for those situations is rarely, if ever, an abortion.
>what if it's an unplanned teen pregnancy or a teen was raped?
If a teen girl was raped that's terrible but you can read my above answer about abortion in cases of rape because it doesn't change for a teenager.
If it's an unplanned pregnancy, why should the baby die? They are still as much of a person as they are in a planned pregnancy. It is safer to go through the natural pregnancy and birth process than it is to get an abortion. So a pregnant teenager needs thorough medical care and attention throughout the pregnancy, not an abortion. It's still not safe even if a teenager is pregnant.
Abortion does not magically erase the baby. The woman still has to deliver it from her body. Abortion forces the body to "birth" a dead baby. That's the difference. You advocate for the delivery of a dead baby. I advocate for the delivery of a living one.
>do you think it's ok if the mother dies as long the baby lives?
No, that's why I don't support things that would kill the mother. I want both the mother and baby to be taken care of. I want them both to live. If the mother dies the baby is going to die, too. The baby cannot live if the mother doesn't. And killing the baby doesn't save the mothers' life. In situations where the mother may die she needs to be treated as necessary and every effort needs to be taken to save her life. Doctors should be try to save both lives. And if the baby dies in the process of saving the mother that is tragic but it's not an abortion.
The problem here is you just don't really understand what abortion is. For some reason you think killing a baby is the only solution to a tough situation, but you're wrong. You don't ever need to kill a baby. We can let them both live.
And I've actually had former pro-choicers tell me I have helped to change their mind so you're wrong :)

I am 6 days sober
Today marks the 6th day of being sober. I have cut marijuana and cigarettes out of my life for good. I've tried many times before but since receiving my correct diagnosis and medication, I am actually doing it and feel completely different this time around.
Sleeping has been SO difficult but last night I got my first full sleep (I have my cat to thank for that because he slept on my hand all night so I couldn't keep turning over lol).
I'm taking up healthy habits and my whole mindset just feels completely different this time around. I'm thinking of my future properly, all the ins and outs that I never would have considered.
I'm eating good, no more binge eating (I still have Easter eggs in the cupboard that I'm not even tempted by).
I feel like I'm rebirthing. I'm allowing myself to be the combined type ADHD girl that I always have been, and yes, I have flashbacks from things that have happened but this time round I'm owning it, I refuse to let anyone or anything take any more away from me.

Harding Hooten masterlist
Tumblr media
And all I can do is just pour some tea for two [AO3] E, 5.3k Harding loves art of all forms, right? Why wouldn't he like suspension? [Suspension + food kink + knife play + wax]
But It's not Sane [AO3] E, 2.2k Menstrual sex with Harding.
Drabbles ch. 1 [ AO3 | Tumblr ] M, 806 Harding may not partake in the use of marijuana, but he did support the medical applications. Applications that his partner found to work best over other options for their chronic pain. (unspecified gender reader)
Drabbles Ch. 5 [ AO3 | Tumblr ] T, 588 He’d come home late from his trip, and all he needed was you.
Drabbles Ch. 11 [ AO3 | Tumblr ] M, 1.2K Diagnosed with a terminal illness, it’s never easy. When it’s your body or your partner, and Harding only clinically had experience with this. He never wanted the first hand experience of loosing you.
Drabbles Ch 14 [ AO3 | Tumblr ] E, 1.4k You thought you’d put that toy up somewhere only you knew. Harding just seemed to have his sources better than you did.
Drabbles Ch 15 [ AO3 | Tumblr ] G, 597 Harding was busy, you were hungry, and fuck, you were patient enough for his arms around you that evening. He, however, wasn’t.
Drabbles Ch. 16 [ AO3 | Tumblr ] G, 578 Reader introduces Harding to Asexuality
Drabbles Ch. 17 [ AO3 | Tumblr ] E, 920 Hooten X reader where they’re on a trip and on a porch that’s kinda open but no ones around anyway so Hooten pulls them onto his lap and let them grind down against his thigh then screwing with lazy kissing
Drabbles, Ch 19 [AO3] M, 1k A piece where the reader struggles with self harm and relapses. CW Self Harm, relapse
I like to watch The Puddles Gather Rain [ AO3 | Tumblr ] M, 4.7K [pt 1 to stay with me] You’d left nearly ten years ago, to leave your future as a neuroscientist behind, to take up the one thing you had wanted more than anything: Art. Harding was the last person you’d expected to run into when you came to Portland again. No, strike that, he was the last person you’d wanted to run into. But your conversation showed no signs of flagging.
I'll Always be there When You Wake [AO3] E, 4.2k Celebrating Harding's Birthday with some flogging and fisting
Só [ AO3 | Tumblr ] M, 1k Usually you knew just where to stop with hickies on Harding’s chest. This morning, you’d strayed just a little too high.

Harding Hooten/Hugh Weldon/Reader
Tumblr media
We're remotely secluded in this far away place [AO3] E, 3.8k You'd often travel with Harding when he would find international travel due to work. It was during one such trip to Ireland that you'd met the adorable, nerdy Doctor Weldon. Curls and thick glasses, it hadn't taken much prodding for Harding to let him into your shared bed, and less time to find himself fucking Hugh. Months later, Hugh still enjoyed his time between your legs, and Harding between his.
